Election Day in Osun has begun with relative calm, as voters have been observed behaving orderly as they wait to cast their votes in the Osun gubernatorial elections Charmingpro reports

Charmingpro recalls that on Friday, July 16, 2022, the Osogbo NURTW chairman, Kazeem Oyewale, aka Asiri Eniba, was arrested by a Nigerian Army detachment at his Ojurin, Old Garage office.

Oyewale was later paraded by the Osun State Police Command in the evening, along with some of his boys who had also been arrested.

Many speculated that his arrest was motivated by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDPnumerous )’s complaints that Oyewale was involved in inciting violence in most parts of the state capital, Osogbo.

An enraged Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Larooye, threatened to curse the Osogbo NURTW boss after suspected thugs acting on his orders attacked the PDP entourage during a visit to the monarch in his palace in Osogbo.

Accreditation of voters had begun in Ward 4, Polling Units 17, 18, 19, 20, as of the time of filing this report.

Voters who spoke with the Charmingpro expressed hope that the election would be peaceful and free of violence.
