British Supermodel, Georgina Cooper Passes Away at 46!
Georgina Cooper, the famous model and renowned face of the “Cool Britannia” era, died at the age of 46, and the fashion industry is in sorrow. Cooper rose to prominence during the Cool Britannia movement, embodying the bold, rebellious attitude of the 1990s British society and known for her edgy elegance. Jade Parfitt and Erin O’Connor, the model’s friends, confirmed her death on Instagram.
According to a person close to the model, she passed away on the Greek island of Kos after suffering a blood clot in her brain due to a prolonged COVID-19 infection.
Cooper, who was best known for her Cool Britannia look with her gapped front tooth, shot to fame on the ’90s fashion scene by being on the cover of The Face magazine photographed by Elaine Constantine and was a regular on the runways of brands like Helmut Lang, Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein and Hussein Chalayan.
“She was such a people person, one of those models who just never changed. She was always 100 percent herself — that drew every single person to her. She never got airs and graces despite her huge success in the industry. Her energy was just infectious. She’s somebody that you always would gravitate towards backstage because you knew you’d have such fun chatting to her,” said Parfitt, founder of the Bath Fashion Festival, in a phone interview with Vogue.
Georgina’s career took off during a pivotal period in fashion, captivating audiences, designers, and photographers with her distinct fusion of refinement and raw edge.
