Chief Judge, CJ, of Niger State, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik, has approved the temporary relocation of Lapai High Court to the Chief Magistrate Court Complex in Lapai, Lapai Local Government Area, due to the deplorable state of the court

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Chief Registrar of the State High Court, Hajiya Amina Lamide Musa.

It was gathered that the CJ directed the immediate relocation of the High Court pending the completion of renovation work during an inspection visit to the court.

Justice Abdulmalik disclosed that the relocation was a result of the commencement of the renovation works at the High Court.

She said, “With this announcement, members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Minna and Suleja, as well as litigants, should file their processes at the temporary location of the High Court.”

The statement directed members of the public and lawyers to channel all their litigations and other necessary processes for prompt judicial and administrative action.

The High Court has been in a bad state for about 10 years, a development which was said to have forced the staff to desert the court whenever it rained
