Naval Chief Visits Disputed Land Amid Faceoff Between Wike and Naval Officer

A new photo has surfaced showing the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas, alongside Lt. A.M. Yerima, visiting the disputed parcel of land allegedly belonging to former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo (retd.)

The visit comes just days after a heated confrontation between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Lt. Yerima on Tuesday, November 11, when the minister attempted to halt an ongoing construction project on the land, citing improper acquisition.

In the viral footage of the altercation, Wike could be seen insisting that the land was not legally allocated, while Yerima firmly stood his ground and blocked the minister’s team from accessing the site.

Rear Admiral Abbas’s visit appears to be a move to assess the situation firsthand amid rising tensions between the Nigerian Navy and the FCT Administration over ownership and construction rights on the property.
