Mr Culture Breaking Barriers

Whenever Ayan de First speaks, or expresses the beauty and vibrancy of Africa’s culture with the gongs of his talking drums, even the hardest of hearts melt!

Like a force that cannot be easily stopped, the tireless and immeasurable efforts by the iconic AFROEUROPA 2022 Culture Ambassador – Ayan de First – Mr Culture, is unmatched.

His massive recognition for majestically showcasing African culture around the globe has positively impacted Africans in the diaspora, most of who now pride themselves as sons and daughters of the African soil, giving credit and unreserved salutations to Mr Culture as he continues to soar way above the ordinary;  breaking boundaries in a bid to fulfil his passion and what he describes as his divine assignment –  the act of promoting Africa’s rich cultural heritage around the globe.

Ayan  de First’s exceptional mastery of the talking drums has earned him official invitations to perform for the high and mighty, far and wide.  On his list of entertained guests, are royal families from home and abroad and their guests (including the late Queen of United Kingdom Elizabeth II, King Charles III of United Kingdom), and the society’s elite in Africa and the diaspora.

Mr Culture recently welcomed a change in his show business dynamics when he honoured an invitation from the Comrades’ to perform on a sea trip to Santorini in Greece for a double celebration of Wale Adetoro’s fiftieth milestone, and Princess Iyunade Tiaraoluwa’s second birthday.

The sailing time lasted about five hours, long enough for Mr Culture to present his usual  mind-blowing performance to the excited guests, which brought smiles to their faces and stirred up emotions that would last long in their memories.  It was an awesome experience for everyone on board with Ayan de First enlarging his entertainment coast, setting another record of being the first African Talking Drummer to perform on the Mediterranean Sea.

According to the culture ambassador whose face lights up at the mention of the word culture,  the fact of the matter is simple – “when it relates to African culture, I will continue to set new records”.  “I believe strongly in creativity and innovation, hence, why I try to introduce new and interesting ideas to my presentation whenever I have the opportunity to  showcase the richness, vibrancy and beauty of the African culture.”

Although, on this particular occasion due to unforeseen circumstances, Mr Culture had to cut short his trip to the Greek Islands, he still affirms that he  enjoyed the sailing experience and feel blessed by the opportunity it availed him.
