A man identified as Benvyuria Saidi has been charged with stealing his grandmother’s TV set and a woofer music system.

Saidi reportedly stole his grandmother’s properties after she failed to give him money to celebrate Christmas.

He pleaded guilty after being arraigned before Mombasa Senior principal magistrate Martin Rabera.

During the hearing in court, it was disclosed that Saidi asked his grandmother Maneno Chitangi to give him money to go merrymaking with his friends, however, his granny declined and the suspect threatened to teach her a lesson.

The following day, on Boxing Day, the suspect broke into his grandmother’s house and stole a Vitron TV 32″ inches and one woofer music system. However, as he left the house, the granny alerted neighbours who managed to restrain Saidi before police officers were called in. The stolen items were all recovered.
