Lagos speaker describes the sudden demise of Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, Ademola Razaq Seriki, as shocking beyond description

The sudden death of Nigeria’s ambassador to Spain, Ademola Razaq Seriki, has been called beyond shocking by the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.

Seriki, a former Nigerian minister of defense, passed away on Thursday at the age of 63, according to his children, who claimed he did so quietly with them by his side.

In a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Eromosele Ebhomele, Dr. Obasa claimed that the occurrence had reduced the number of outstanding and devoted Nigerians who had good intentions for the nation.

The Speaker lamented the loss of a brilliant man who made immeasurable contributions to the development of Lagos and Nigeria.

“Demola Seriki’s passing as the ambassador of Nigeria to Spain is devastating beyond words.

“It is difficult to explain the sadness and heartbreak that the passing of Seriki has caused to us. Personally, I’m in shock. I lost a sibling who was passionate about his nation and wanted to see it prosper.

He diligently worked as an ambassador to enhance Nigeria’s reputation, which helped our nation gain recognition around the world.

He was a thoughtful team player who contributed to the success of the All Progressives Congress up until his passing (APC).

“We in the Lagos State House of Assembly are in deep sorrow with the departed family, friends, and colleagues of our dear Ambassador.

The statement read, “While we pray to Almighty Allah to bless him Al-janah Firdaus, we also ask to Him to grant us all the strength to bear this loss, amin.”
