Death is indeed an unexpected event that leaves an unforgetable and painful memories in the lives of the victims. Today’s update, I bring memories of our famous sportsmen who were taken away by the cold hands of death in 2020. It’s from the tragedy of Kazeem Tiyamiyu shocking death to a player collapsing on the pitch, with no doubt, 2020 has really been an awful year for losing some of our brightest and talented sports names.

Below are the listed sportsmen who were taken away by death this year. So let’s take a moment to remember the talented sportsmen we lost in 2020.

1&2. Ifeanyi George and Emmanuel Ogbu

Ifeanyi George and Emmanuel Ogbu were teammates Until their tragic death. This both handsome and talented men loved so much by fans, played for Enugu Rangers in the Nigerian Professional League. Sadly, Ifeanyi and Emmanuel died together in a terrible car accident as their car collided with a parked truck.

Ifeanyi George, was also recorded to have played two games for Nigeria in 2017.

3. Chieme Martins

Beloved and famous Nasarawa United player by name Chieme Martins slumped and died on March 8, during the Nigeria Professional Football League games. He slumped after a collision with a Katsina United player. He was swiftly rushed to Dalhatu- Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia where he was sadly pronounced dead.

4. Yusuf Usman Usein

Talented Yusuf Usman Usein, is locally known as Eiye. He is an ex-player of Crown Football Club, he slumped and died while playing in a friendly game with his yet to be signed new club, Gateway United FC, on the 15th November, 2020.

5Ajibade Babalade

Talented Ex-Super Eagles Defender, Ajibade Babalade who was also part of the Eagles squad that won bronze at the 1992 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal. He sadly died at the age of 48 after suffering cardiac arrest.

6. Kazeem Tiyamiyu

Another Talented player, Kazeem Tiyamiyu is locally known as kaka. He played in defence for Remo Stars, but was Sadly annouced deid as he was knocked down and killed in an apparent hit and run, but his club alleged that he was a victim of police brutality.
