A former England manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson, is dead.

Eriksson’s family confirmed his death on Monday in a terse statement.

“Sven-Goran Eriksson has passed away,” the statement read.

“After a long illness, SGE died during the morning at home surrounded by family.”

The 76-year-old had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

At the beginning of 2024, the Swede revealed he only had a year to live “at best”.

During his career, Eriksson managed top European clubs like Benfica, Roma, Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Lazio
