Davido and 50 Cent

Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has opened up on being denied access by American rapper, Curtis James Jackson III, also known as 5o Cent.

According to Davido, the American rapper once denied him photo as a young fan.

Davido made this chilling revelation in a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club.

Davido recounted being just 14 years old when his family traveled to Las Vegas to celebrate his older brother’s 21st birthday.

While hanging out in the hotel lobby, he spotted members of G-Unit, including his favorite at the time, Lloyd Banks, who happily posed for a photo with him.

He said:

“I saw 50 Cent and was like, ‘Wow! 50 Cent, I love you. Can I have a picture?’” Davido recalled. “He just said ‘No’ and walked off.”

According to Davido, years after he [Davido] had risen to fame, he reminded 50 Cent of the moment when they met again.

This time as fellow artists.

Davido said:

“I told him the story and he said, ‘You’re here now, right?’”

Charming Magazine notes that, despite that early rejection, the both persons have since developed a professional relationship.

50 Cent previously brought Davido on stage as a surprise guest at his Madison Square Garden show in New York, and they’re now scheduled to co-headline a concert in London later this year alongside R&B icon Mary J. Blige.
