Car snatching is on the increase in Adamawa State.

This was confirmed by the state command of the Nigeria Police.

The police, in a statement obtained by DAILY POST, Saturday morning, alerted residents of the rising cases of car theft, especially in the metropolitan Yola North, Yola South and Girei local government areas.

The statement by the spokesman of the State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said that in a move to stem the tide, the command would be embarking on vigorous checks in the affected areas which may result in slow traffic flow.

“The Commissioner of Police therefore appeals to motorists for their understanding as the action is in the interest of their safety and security,” Nguroje stated.

He appealed to the general public to call the Command’s control room number 08089671313, in case of emergency
