The Nigerian Law School has relocated the call to bar ceremony from its headquarters in Bwari to Airport Road in Abuja, Charmingpro reports

Prof Hayatu Isa Ciroma, the school’s Director General, revealed in a tweet shared on his handle that the new venue is the Secretariat of the Body of Benchers behind the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters in Abuja.

“The Director-General has directed that candidates be notified of the change in the venue of the Call to the Bar from the Nigerian Law School Bwari to the Body of Benchers Secretariat along the Airport Road, Abuja by 1pm tomorrow 27th July, 2022,” he wrote in a tweet.

The organizers advised candidates’ friends and family members to avoid the venue because only the candidates would be permitted to enter. In August 2021, the Body of Benchers admitted 4,350 new lawyers to the bar.

Although no reason was given for the change in venue, it could be related to the increased security in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Recall that a captain and two soldiers from the Nigerian Army’s Presidential Guards Brigade were killed in an ambush by terrorists a few days ago. The soldiers were reportedly ambushed after visiting the Nigeria Law School in response to a distress call from the school’s administration.

The school administration was said to have received notification that terrorists had dropped a letter indicating an impending attack on the school.
