President Muhammadu Buhari has left Nigeria for the United Kingdom.

Buhari, who flew from Abuja to London on Sunday, is expected to get a normal medical check-up, according to the Nigerian News Agency, NAN.

The president had intended to leave from Nairobi, Kenya, after visiting the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) at the age of 50 there.

In a statement dated March 1, the president’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, stated the president would travel from Kenya to London for “regular medical checkups that will continue for a maximum of two weeks.”

The president, on the other hand, returned to Abuja on Friday at 1 p.m. before departing for London on Sunday.
