The Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), has on Thursday 22nd February 2024, approved the appointment of Mr. Gbenga Alade as the Managing Director/CEO of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), heading a new four-man management team for the Organisation pending his confirmation by the Senate.
Mr. Alade who is currently the Managing Director of GT Bank UK, holds a First Class Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Lagos, and Master of Science in Finance from the University of Lagos. He is a Fellow / Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He holds professional qualifications in Project Management, and is also a Certified Enterprise Risk Management Professional (CERMP) from Canada.
Mr Gbenga Alade equipped with over thirty-five years of banking experience, covering areas such as Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking, Investment Banking and Risk Management, has worked in top positions with various banks both in Africa and abroad.
His appointment today is in line with the Nigerian President’s vision of getting dedicated professionals into the Nigerian Financial System, to sanitize the system.
