Boko Haram, ISWAP, bandits planning attacks in Abuja, Katsina, Lagos – NSCDC

Plans to attack some Nigerian states have been discovered by Boko Haram, the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP), and bandits  Charmingpro reports

In a memo obtained by Nigerian Tribune, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) issued the warning.

The alert revealed that the two sects possessed sophisticated weapons that would be used against targets in Katsina State.

Similarly, other terrorist organizations are planning attacks on Abuja, the nation’s capital, and other locations, including Lagos State.

The NSCDC advised all State commands across the country to protect public places and government facilities.

DD Mungadi, Deputy Commandant General (DCG) of Operations, signed the July 24 memo titled “Heightened Terrorist Plots to Stage Coordinated Attacks in Parts of the Country.”

According to the report, Boko-Haram and the ISWAP “have mobilised fighters and high calibre weapons, particularly rocket-propelled grenade launchers, anti-aircraft (AA) guns, and general purpose machine guns (GPMGS).”

These are for the offensive in Katsina, President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state.

It went on to say that “two separate bandits groups” are planning coordinated attacks on the North-West, North Central, and South-West (Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kogi, FCT, and Lagos) states.

The civil defense has directed its personnel to increase deployment to schools, worship centers, and critical national assets in their respective states in order to thwart potential criminal threats.
