Biafra: IPOB disowns Government In Exile

The Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, cleared the air on Sunday about forming an exile governmen, Charmingpro reports

According to the Charmingpro, Simon Ekpa, the self-proclaimed discipline of IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has announced the formation of a government in exile.

However, IPOB has distanced Kanu from the aforementioned Government in Exile.

“We, the global movement and noble family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wish to reiterate once again to Biafrans, friends of Biafra, and lovers of freedom around the world that IPOB led by Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu has not established any Government In Exile,” said IPOB spokesman Emma Powerful (GIE). As a result, we completely distance ourselves from the ostensible Government in Exile.

“The IPOB has legitimate and well-established institutions, as well as a well-structured administrative hierarchy that oversees Biafra affairs on a daily basis.” Already, all diplomatic missions and countries around the world are aware of the Biafra agitation, and they communicate with IPOB as the responsible authority that oversees the Biafran people’s affairs, both nationally and internationally.

“IPOB has international contacts and connections through our established Institutions and Structures, not through any worthless Government in Exile.” As a result, anyone or group peddling or claiming to have established a government in exile has embarked on a jamboree similar to those who came before them claiming to have established a government in exile at one point in time. They simply do not deserve to be given any attention because this is the channel through which the Nigerian government wishes to dilute our call for total freedom.”

The group recalled how a former deputy leader proposed such a government to Kanu, but he declined.

“We are not unaware that some expelled IPOB members, including a former Deputy to our Leader, once suggested this Government in Exile to our Leader, Kanu, but he did not buy into it knowing full well how unnecessary it is at this stage of our struggle.”

“However, now that our Leader is detained, these same elements saw it as an opportunity to realize their selfish ambition by quickly claiming to have established the non-existent GIE.” We know their ultimate goal is to use it to sell the Biafra struggle to our enemies, but they have failed miserably,” the statement continued.
