Anambra: 22,000 people apply online to serve in Soludo government

No fewer than 22,000 persons reportedly applied through online to work under the incoming government of Prof Chukwuma Soludo as governor of Anambra State.

The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will be sworn in on March 17 as the state’s next governor following Chief Willie Obiano’s tenure end.

Soludo created an application page two weeks ago for people interested in serving in his government.

He referred to them as problem solvers and encouraged them to come up with particular challenges for the state to tackle.

Mr. Joe Anatune, a media assistant for Soludo, revealed that as of Monday, February 28, 22,000 applications for positions had been received.

The online talent hunt, according to Anatune, was a form of data bank that the state government would keep in order to determine the industry in which each candidate would work.

He said, “This is not a one-off thing but a kind of employment bank or database from which applicants are engaged depending on the demand for such job specifications.”
