The 10th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) kicked off in grand style with the highly anticipated Cultural Day celebration, and it was a night to remember.
Held at the iconic Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos, the event brought together some of the biggest names in Nollywood, fashion, and entertainment, all paying homage to Africa’s rich cultural heritage through fashion, music, food, and art.
Celebrities pulled out all the stops as they showed up dressed in their finest traditional regalia, representing the beauty, colour, and diversity of the continent.
From glamorous aso-oke and isi-agu ensembles to beaded accessories and regal headpieces, the red carpet was a feast for the eyes. Notable stars like Iyabo Ojo, Kunle Remi, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Bisola Aiyeola, Ali Baba, and Odunlade Adekola served breathtaking looks that left fans gushing online.
The evening wasn’t just about the fashion though — it was a full-blown celebration of African culture. Guests were treated to an array of traditional dishes from different parts of the continent including Nigerian Abula, Ghanaian Banku, and Rwandan Beef Matoke.
These were complemented by cultural games and live performances, including an energetic set by Segun Johnson that had the crowd buzzing. The air was filled with pride, laughter, and the unmistakable beat of African drums.
The AMVCA Cultural Day has become a staple on the entertainment calendar, and this year’s edition was a solid reminder of why. It seamlessly blended glamour with culture and served as a powerful prelude to the award show.
As the AMVCA festivities continue, fans and viewers are eagerly anticipating which stars and filmmakers will take home the top honours. But for now, the Cultural Day has already won hearts with its unapologetic celebration of everything that makes Africa magical.
