Adamawa varsity loses faculty to fire, to get solar power supply

The Adamawa State University Mubi, ADSU, has lost the building housing its Faculty of Management Sciences to a fire.

This was disclosed on Saturday when Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, who is on a three-day working visit to the northern part of Adamawa State, visited the university.

The governor who was taken round the affected university faculty building by the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr Stephen Lagu, commiserated with the management, staff and students of the university over the fire incident.

The governor not only promised urgent renovation of the affected building but also pledged a solar power system to provide electricity to the university.

He explained that his government has entered into a collaboration with SDGs on the establishment of one mega solar farm.

He said the design would be such that it would be sufficient for both the old and the nearby newly developed campus of the university.

“This university is dear to the government and people of our state. We as a government will do all it takes to ensure that the institution maintains its ranking in the country,” Fintiri said.
