Popular Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has sent social media into fits of laughter after issuing a playful but pointed PSA to aspiring scriptwriters sliding into her DMs.
In a post shared on her Instagram Stories, the actress addressed one particular message from a self-proclaimed scriptwriter who opened with: “Hello Bimbo, Am a script writer, I’d like to write for you.”
Bimbo didn’t hold back, jokingly rejecting the request on the spot.
According to her, anyone claiming to be a scriptwriter but still writing “Am” instead of “I’m” is not someone she’s ready to entrust with her craft.
She teased:
“You’re a scriptwriter but you’re writing ‘Am’. ‘Hello Bimbo, Am a scriptwriter…’ No dear, not for me. Alakoba, me wey just dey start. O ma b’temi je pelu oyinbo iranu.”
The actress’ light-hearted rant quickly resonated with fans, many praising her for saying what several industry professionals think but rarely voice: if you want to write professionally, your basics must be solid.
While amusing, her message doubles as a reminder to upcoming creatives, attention to detail matters, especially when reaching out to industry figures.
