AFCON 2021 Final: Egypt’s key player to miss Senegal clash

Due to a yellow card accumulation ban, Egypt will be without right-back Omar Kamal when they face Senegal in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final on Sunday.

Omar began the 2021 AFCON on the bench, as Al Ahly’s Akram Tawfik was the starting right-back.

Tawfik, on the other hand, was no longer a possibility for Egypt after suffering a long-term injury in the first game.

Following Tawfik’s injury, Egypt’s coach, Carlos Queiroz, replaced him with Kamal.

Kamal immediately became a fan favorite after strong performances against Ivory Coast, Morocco, and Cameroon.

Due to his yellow card accumulation, Kamal will be unable to play for Egypt in their next and final AFCON 2021 encounter against Senegal.

The 28-year-old received his first yellow card against Morocco in the quarter-final stage before being handed the second one in the Cameroon clash in the semi-final, resulting in his one-game suspension.

The kick-off time for the Egypt vs Senegal match is 8 pm.
