The fifth edition of the AFROEUROPA Gala & Awards Night has celebrated cultural diversity, community leadership and social cohesion, bringing together diplomats, mayors, councillors, entrepreneurs, community leaders and other guests in London.
The event, held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at The City Pavilion in Romford, provided a platform for networking, business development and relationship building among people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Organised around the theme, “Fostering a United & Flourishing Community for Future Generations,” the gala highlighted the importance of collaboration, inclusion and meaningful investment in young people to build stronger communities.
The evening began with a glamorous red-carpet reception, where guests arrived in style, took photographs and participated in interviews. A subsequent networking session, accompanied by cocktails and refreshments, offered attendees opportunities to establish new connections and strengthen existing relationships.

Among the featured speakers were Professor Pavin Somani of the London Organisation of Skills Development (LOSD) and Dr Aisha Garba, Executive Director of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC). Both delivered talks addressing the event’s theme, emphasising the importance of positive and impactful investment in the lives of young people and the need to create opportunities that support future generations.
Guests also enjoyed a variety of food and drinks reflecting culinary influences from Africa and Europe, reinforcing the event’s celebration of cultural exchange and shared experiences.
Several interactive attractions added to the evening’s entertainment, including a bespoke photo booth and a 360-degree camera that allowed guests to capture memorable moments. A raffle draw also generated excitement, with lucky ticket holders winning prizes during the event.

Fashion and entertainment were central to the celebration. Kitted Fashion presented a fashion show featuring creative designs and striking ensembles that highlighted the beauty of cultural diversity. The showcase provided an opportunity to celebrate fashion as a medium for expressing identity, creativity and cultural heritage.
Legendary DJ Omo Whyte entertained guests with a selection of music, including hip-hop, while live cultural, musical and dance performances showcased elements of African and European traditions. The performances added vibrancy to the evening and reinforced the message that cultural differences can serve as a foundation for unity and mutual appreciation.

Another major highlight was the presentation of awards to individuals recognised for their leadership, community service and contributions to society. The honourees were celebrated as role models whose dedication, vision and commitment to serving others demonstrate how individuals can make a positive difference in their communities.
Through its combination of networking, thought-provoking discussions, cultural performances, fashion, entertainment and recognition of community achievements, AFROEUROPA Gala & Awards Night 2026 reinforced its commitment to celebrating diversity and encouraging social cohesion.

The fifth edition provided an opportunity for participants from different backgrounds to connect, exchange ideas and explore ways to build more inclusive and prosperous communities for future generations.
