Remi Tinubu

A Nigerian man has voiced strong concerns on X (formerly Twitter) after an invitation surfaced indicating that the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, had invited all senators to a dinner at the Presidential Villa.

Reacting to the development, he listed a string of recent security crises across the country. He cited the abduction of more than 300 students from St. Mary’s Catholic School, the kidnapping of worshippers during church services, and the killing of Anglican priest Edwin Achi, whose wife and daughter remain in captivity.

He further pointed to fresh abductions reported within the last few days, stressing that many Nigerians are still searching for missing family members or dealing with displacement caused by banditry and insurgent attacks.

His post questioned the timing of the planned dinner, arguing that such a high-profile social engagement feels out of touch with the realities many citizens are currently facing.
