Regina Daniels and husbandRegina Daniels and husband

Regina Daniels got married at 19 years old, not 17- Ned Nwoko; says Regina’s classmates have testified she and her sister dropped out of school over drug abuse.

Lawmaker, Senator Ned Nwoko, has come out to clarify on the exact age his last wife, actress Regina Daniels was when he got married to her six years ago,

In a statement released by the Communication/Technical Action Team, Office of the Senator, the lawmaker stated that Regina was 19 and not 17 when he tied the knot with her.

“For clarity, Regina Daniels was born on October 10, 2000. If she has been married for six years, that means she got married at 19 years old, not 17. Our customs and traditions do not frown upon polygamy. What I did was to marry her honourably, give her a name, and treat her with dignity.

Our marriage has been public and transparent. Beyond the social media lifestyle, my world revolved around Regina. I pampered her and cared for her deeply, something everyone who has worked with me across Delta, Abuja, and beyond can testify to.

It is, therefore, disheartening to read all this filth being spread online. As the saying goes, when a wall cracks, the lizard finds its way in. Regina has become a weak point through which my political and personal enemies are attacking me.

My decision to marry her properly according to tradition is now being twisted into a tool for political blackmail. This is a witch-hunt that has been ongoing for years, an attempt to stop my developmental strides and tarnish me now that I am a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’’ he said

The Senator representing the Delta North Senatorial District stated that it is on record that Regina had a history of substance use and that herself and her sister were kicked out of school because of drug abuse.

“The whole world has read her own accounts of substance use, and her former schoolmates have testified online that she and her sister dropped out of school because of drug-related issues. Yet some people keep pushing this false narrative to damage my reputation. She openly admitted to using drugs and said she was on bipolar medication.”

Reacting to this, on Sagittarian80 wrote, “You people & double standards, when Regina & her family speak, you all eulogize her but when this man speaks, you all try to keep him shut???? Why do we women love to play the victim card always??? Regina assaulted the Nannie’s, nobody is talking about it, the issue of drug abuse shouldn’t be handled with levity. She needs to seek help and I’m sure help is what she’s running away from that’s why she left that man.”

Regina and her family messed up this whole situation with their emotions via too much spilling on social media. Ned Nwoko haven studied Law in the UK and as well being a Nigerian politician came prepared and Regina and her siblings enabled it via giving him an edge to step on. If you take this matter to the court, only the drug substance stuff will deprive her of having full childcare or shared child care arrangements of her children. Silence most times is golden while you strategise and fight your battles underground.”

They were willing to support my university training, but I had other priorities. I was called names, but I stayed focused. Now, my partner has completed his PhD abroad and invited me to his graduation. Meanwhile, I’m thriving in my career with FG parastatals on grade level 14, ahead of my peers. It’s time for me to get married, as I promised my late mum. Regina needs to take responsibility for her choices, she chose polygamy and loving Ned, no one forced her. She needs to show some class and character in her marriage.”
