The Labour Party has declared that the sixteen years of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and seven years of All Progressives Congress (APC) rule in Nigeria have been a total waste, Charmingpro reports
Abdullahi Tsoho Garba, a Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Jigawa State, stated this while addressing party supporters at a Town Hall meeting held at the NLC Headquarters in Dutse, the state capital.
He stated that the purpose of the meeting was to educate the general public on the importance of obtaining voter registration cards before the 2023 general elections.
“All the noise you’re making if you don’t have a PVC means nothing if you want to end the waste years of the PDP and APC,” he said.
“The years of the PDP and the seven years of the APC were a waste; everyone is looking for an alternative, and we see the Labour Party as an option.”
“The LP is the party of NLC members who vote in the majority in any election; they are civil servants, farmers, mechanics, and others.”
“However, a few people are attempting to turn the democratic right in the country, and Jigawa in particular, as family affairs or monarchy, who are simply voting because they contested elections,” he stated.
“So that is why people said they are tired of this kind of slavery, so LP should come up with candidates to save the country from the current feuds that are besieging it.”
Speaking to the party’s supporters, Umar Faruk Ibrahim, National Secretary of the Labour Party, warned Nigerians not to make the same mistakes they did in 2015.
He stated that Nigeria has never had it so bad as it does now, urging Nigerians to vote for Peter Obi in the 2023 general election for credibility and transparency.
“It is regrettable that Nigerians are currently being held hostage by bandits on a daily basis without the concern of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government.”
