A routine school journey ended in tragedy on Saturday, February 28, after an eight-year-old pupil, identified as Ananya, reportedly fell through a hole in the floor of a moving school bus and was crushed under its rear wheels in Kasganj district.
According to local reports, the incident occurred when the child allegedly slipped through a damaged section of the bus floor while the vehicle was in motion. The horrifying accident has sparked outrage and renewed concerns over school transport safety standards.
Authorities in India confirmed that the bus did not have a valid fitness certificate or insurance at the time of the incident. The driver of the school bus has since been arrested as investigations continue.
