US President Donald Trump will on Friday sign an executive order establishing a White House Task Force for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The tournament will be hosted by the US, Canada, and Mexico.

According to Fox News, Trump will serve as the chair of the task force, while Vice President JD Vance will act as the vice-chair.

Meanwhile, an executive director—yet to be named—will manage and oversee daily operations.

The report states that the primary objective of the task force will be to oversee preparations for the tournament, comprising members of Trump’s cabinet and key government agencies.

Additionally, the task force will collaborate with federal agencies in planning, organising, and executing the World Cup.

Host cities are expected to welcome nearly half a million visitors, with a potential economic impact of up to $480 million benefiting the tourism, hospitality, and retail industries
