Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has stated that All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu has agreed to pick a Muslim as his running mate, Charmingpro reports.
Ganduje made the announcement on Friday at a gathering of about 100 clerics at the Kano state government house as part of Eid-El Kabir celebrations.
“We advised him [Tinubu] to pick a Muslim deputy, and he agreed,” he said.
“A Muslim-Muslim ticket exists. It is not a new phenomenon in Nigeria.”
Ganduje also requested that the clerics pray for Tinubu to be elected Nigeria’s next president in 2023.
Tinubu was elected as the APC’s presidential candidate in June of this year.
The former Lagos State governor defeated his opponent with 1,271 votes.
