Delta Airlines cancelled its Lagos-Atlanta flight, leaving passengers stranded at MMIA…. By Fred Chukwuelobe

But unlike what usually happens with Nigerian airlines, there was no major social media outrage. No trending hashtags. No celebrity videos. No nationwide condemnation.

The question is simple:
Why are local airlines judged more harshly than foreign carriers for the same aviation realities?

Flight delays and cancellations happen worldwide due to safety, technical, and operational issues. What should matter is communication, passenger care, and accountability — not the nationality of the airline.

If we truly want strong indigenous aviation brands, the standards and criticism must be fair across board.
