The Lagos State Government has thrown its support behind media personality and entrepreneur, Tacha Akide’s upcoming attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most cosmetic makeovers by an individual in 24 hours
The record attempt is the centrepiece of the Tacha Beauty Festival, a three-day event scheduled to hold from October 10–12, 2025, at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture & History in Lagos.
Tacha aims to complete 150 makeovers within 24 hours, a feat that, if successful, will place her in the Guinness World Records and shine a spotlight on Nigeria’s fast-growing beauty industry.
The Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Idris Aregbe, emphasised the significance of the initiative.
“This is more than a record attempt. It is a statement that Nigerian creativity and excellence can compete anywhere in the world,” Aregbe said. “The Tacha Beauty Festival is about empowering talent, celebrating culture, and creating a space where beauty meets opportunity, and Lagos State is proud to support this project.”
A Sunday statement explained that the festival itself is positioned as a convergence of commerce, creativity, and cultural celebration.
Beyond the record-breaking effort, the event promises workshops, masterclasses, vendor exhibitions, business development sessions, and cultural showcases — all aimed at promoting local enterprise within the beauty and lifestyle ecosystem.
