The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested Abdulraham Mohammed, a physically challenged drug dealer, in Ogun State, Charmingpro reports.
According to the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, Mohammed was arrested on Saturday, October 1, 2022, and 104kg of compressed Cannabis Sativa was recovered from him.
The spokesperson also revealed that a Brazilian returnee, Ibeh Chinedu Damian, was arrested on Monday, September 26th, 2022, upon his arrival at the Lagos airport via Ethiopian Airlines flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Ibeh, from Ahiazu, Mbaise Local Government Area, Imo State, was discovered with 3.20kg of black cocaine known as Lucci hidden in the false bottoms of his two bags.
In his statement, he stated that he would be paid three million, one hundred thousand naira (N3,100,000) if the drug was successfully delivered in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, two Malians, Mohammed Demoele, 38, and Coulibaly Maliki, 56, were apprehended by NDLEA officers at Ebute Ero jetty in Lagos for attempting to export 34.2kg bottles of the new psychoactive substance Akuskura to Mali via Cotonou, Benin Republic.
On Thursday, September 29th, operatives in Taraba state discovered 100 compressed blocks of Cannabis Sativa weighing 73.500kg hidden inside animal feeds.
Another suspect, Ms. Safiya Bello, was apprehended in the state’s Shagamu area with 27kg of the psychotropic substance.
Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), Chairman of NDLEA, praised the officers and men of Seaports Operations, MMIA, Ogun, and Taraba Commands for their fortitude, while charging them and others across the country to step up ongoing offensive action against drug cartels and traffickers wherever they may be found in Nigeria.
