As part of its efforts to combat insecurity, the Ondo State Government has promised to reward anyone willing to reveal the identity of kidnappers and other criminals in the state with N50,000, Charmingpro reports

Mrs. Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, Commissioner for Information and Orientation, made the announcement on Wednesday following the weekly State Executive Council meeting at the Governor’s Office in Alagbaka, Akure.

According to Ademola-Olateju, the development is intended to encourage citizens to provide useful and timely information about criminal activities in any part of the state.

“Anyone who reports a crime and we follow the trail, and it results in a successful prosecution of the perpetrator,” the Information Commissioner stated.

“We want people in Ondo state to say something when they see something,” she added.

“We want our people to be security proactive in order to rid Ondo State of criminals, bandits, and terrorists.”

Ademola-Olateju also stated that the Council recognized the residents’ appreciation and commendation for the government’s good initiative to establish a toll-free line.

“The number to call is 0800-555-5555.” Anyone can call to provide security tips or report any criminal activity in their area.
